Paolo Garza received the master's and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2001 and 2005, respectively. He spent three years, from 2010 to 2012, as an assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano. From December 2012 to 2018, he was an assistant professor at Politecnico di Torino. Since December 2018, he has been an associate professor at the Dipartimento di Automatica e Informatica, Politecnico di Torino.

His research interests include data mining algorithms, big data analytics, and data science. He has worked on classification, clustering, itemset mining, outlier detection, and scalable algorithms.

He coauthored about 100 papers on data mining, machine learning, and big data algorithms.
