Prof. Luigi De Russis elected "Executive Vice-President" di ACM SIGCHI

In June, Prof. Luigi De Russis, of the Department of Control and Computer Engeenering (DAUIN), was elected Executive Vice-President of the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI) for the three-year period 1 July 2024 - 30 June 2027.

SIGCHI is an international leader in the community of researchers and professionals operating in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), which deals in an interdisciplinary way with innovative technologies that have the power to transform our daily way of life. SIGCHI sponsors conferences, publications, services, and activities (such as workshops and summer schools) that advance the HCI research field.

The research of Prof. De Russis at DAUIN focuses on how people can make their experiences with computers more personalized and meaningful, especially in complex contexts. Therefore, his work is often applied to the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile environments, and user-centered Artificial Intelligence systems.

Prof. De Russis has a history of serving the HCI community, including his role as the General Chair of the ECSCW 2024 conference and his membership in the active Extended Board of the Italian chapter of SIGCHI.
