Play to Learn: Designing Augmented Reality Applied Games for Education

As part of the European Erasmus+ AVENUE CoVE project, the Politecnico di Torino is organizing, held by Francesco Strada, "Play to Learn: Designing Augmented Reality Applied Games for Education", a 2-day hands-on course at the crossroads of Augmented Reality, game design, and education.

The course will take place on 20 and 21 July 2026, with sessions from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm, and it is aimed at Game/XR professionals and students who wish to deepen their knowledge of the subject. Participants will explore how AR and applied games can be combined to create engaging and effective learning experiences, addressing opportunities, design strategies, evaluation tools, and the state of the art in the industry. Each lesson will alternate between theory and hands-on experimentation: participants will play, analyze, and discuss AR-based learning games firsthand.

Participation is by application and is open to a maximum of 10 people. The activities will be held in person in Room 19 at the Politecnico di Torino.

Application deadline: 17 July 2026, 2:00 pm.
Results will be communicated to the provided email address by 18 July 2026.
