Abstract: This talk intends to set the stage for a deeper discussion on topics of specific and mutual interest. We will begin with a brief introduction to the A*STAR research institute and opportunities we have for student collaborations. We will subsequently discuss key cybersecurity problems our team has been working on, highlighting how both the challenges and solutions are evolving over time. Specific topics will include AI-driven network traffic analysis (for security and privacy), phishing detection, etc..
Bio: Dr. Dinil Mon Divakaran (Senior Member ’14, IEEE) is a Senior Principal Scientist at A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), where he focuses on research, development and technology translation. He leads R&D projects partnered with public sector organizations and industry players, ranging from startups to established corporations. He has more than 20 years of research experience in security of network, web, and AI systems. Over the years, he has been leading the research and development of AI models addressing challenges in the area of Cybersecurity. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the School of Computing in NUS.
